JEROME LINDSEY

No Answer

Gamble in silence

Sweetest taste before the dawn

Ocean flows fondly

Answer in the past

Hush of wind answers to none

Knife cuts disturbed

Without You

I’m going through changes
Let me try to relate them
Things are not the same
and we are not like we were then
Living without your love
Has forever changed me
No one else knows the real me
I wait alone, I wander the streets
I’ve gone down through valleys
Over mountains and peaks
Without you, life is bittersweet
I hardly sleep, I barely eat
I would have hurt you
The way the only I could do
Time has caught up with me
Now I can’t help but see
The only way for me to love you
Is to forget about you
The truth was always there
And we were never meant to be

The Quiet One

Whose life is that? I think I know.

The traveller who does not seem to want to go.

I watch her frown and say hello.

/

She gives her head a shake,
And sobs until the tears draw.
The only other sound’s the break,
Of distant waves and birds song.

/

The water is quiet, big and deep,
But she has promises to keep,
Until then she cannot sleep.

/

She rises from her bitter bed,
With thoughts of loneliness on her mind,
She discards her daily bread.
Facing the day, never looking behind.
